What We Do
Research
CIMWI is committed to conducting research on the causes of illness and injury to marine mammals. In efforts to fulfill this mission, CIMWI will:
- Gather scientific data from both living and deceased marine mammals
- Perform clinical research with respect to treating and rehabilitating marine mammals and improving current techniques and established parameters
- Assess trends in the health of marine mammal populations by correlating health with physical, chemical and biological variables in the environment
- Communicate and collaborate with other marine wildlife professionals with regard to advancing all aspects of the science
